Proper Color
Preparation
Many programs
default to the RGB color space, this needs to be converted to the CMYK
color space or to the Pantone color space if using spot color.
With
Microsoft Publisher, for example, at the top menu bar, choose:
Tools/Commercial Printing Tools/ Color Printing. Now select
“Process Colors” (CMYK).
Images and
Fonts
Images should
be at least 300 DPI and at the proper size to print. Along with your
layout, create a folder and label it “Images and
Fonts”.
Place a copy of any images used in your project and include any
“uncommon” fonts as well. To insure the best
quality,
it is best to link to each image as opposed to embedding the
images.
Using
Microsoft Publisher as an example, at the top menu bar, choose:
Tools/Commercial Printing Tools/Graphics Manager.
Now select Link and browse to the “Images and
Fonts” folder where you saved a copy of the original
image.
Along with
your Layout, be sure to send your “Images and
Fonts” folder as well.
